Overview

All users (except collaborators) on all account types can duplicate tasks. Use task duplication to quickly create a copy of a task.

Duplicate a task

  1. Navigate to a folder, project, or space that contains the task you want to duplicate and switch to List view.

  2. Right-click the task you want to duplicate.

  3. Select Duplicate from the list that appears.

  4. In the pop-up that appears, enter a name for the task, select the folder (If you don't select a location here, the duplicate task is created in the same location as the original task), project, or space where the task should be created and customize how the task should be duplicated. Check the toggle next to each option to:

    1. Copy description: Copy the task description when the task is duplicated.

    2. Copy attachments: Include the same attachments on the duplicated task.

    3. Copy assignees: Keep the same assignees when the task is duplicated.

    4. Copy custom fields (for Business and Enterprise users): Duplicated tasks always have the same custom fields as the original task, but this toggle signals that data entered in the original task should be copied to the new task.

    5. Reschedule: Set a start or due date for the task.

  5. (Optional) check Add another so that the dialog box remains open and you can duplicate another task (you can configure each task differently using this option).

  6. Click Duplicate.

You can also duplicate a task by opening the task in Task view, clicking the task's menu button in its upper right-hand corner, and selecting Duplicate task from the drop-down list that appears.
