Overview

All users, except for collaborators, can open and use the custom field management panel unless their access role restricts it.

Tip

This page describes how you can manage custom fields within folders, projects, or spaces. Account owners and admins can manage all account custom fields in the Account Management section. Visit the Managing All Custom Fields in the Account page to learn more.

You can use custom fields in Wrike to store various data related to your current work. Most users have the ability to create custom fields, so each folder, project, and space can have a lot of custom fields added to it. The custom field management panel displays all custom fields available in a certain location and allows managing all of them and creating new ones.

From custom field management, you can:

  • Review all custom fields available in the current location

  • Add or remove custom fields from the current location

  • Edit the custom field properties

  • Create new custom fields

What you see on the custom field management panel

The list of custom fields you see on the panel includes all fields that are:

  • Added to the current folder, project, or space

  • Inherited from its parent folders, projects, and space

  • Added to its subfolders and subprojects.

The information available on the custom field management panel includes:

  • Field names

  • Field types

  • Field creation date and the creator’s name

  • Source: Where the field was added

    Notice

The project/folder/space where a field was added may be different from the project/folder/space where it’s visible. For example, if a field is added to a parent folder/project, it may be visible on all of its subfolders/subprojects, but its source, in this case, is the parent.
